University Virtual Tour of Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore. Featuring over 40 highly produced 360 degree images in a customized web interface. The 360 Tour is split into 4 main areas: Study, Play, Eat and Chill. The web interface features a 3 tier menu system. the tour starts with an aerial 360 photo captured at 60 meters above the Ngee Ann Polytechnic campus and offers a bird’s eye view of all buildings and facilities. We are licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and we managed the permits and operations to capture the aerial 360 image.
The Study menu location takes the viewer to a 360 degree photo of the building exterior of each location in the virtual tour. A sub menu item offers a closer look at a 360 photo of the students at work in this discipline. The Play menu location shows a variety of the activity locations available to the students. The Eat menu location shows 360 photography of the 4 food courts and the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. The Chill menu location showcases the 7 locations for leisure activities available for students.
The customized hot-spots feature a thumbnail of the destination and text below the image on mouse hover. The virtual tour also offers a description field in the bottom right of the interface with text about each 360 photograph location.

Ngee Ann Polytechnic (Abbreviation: NP) is an institution of higher learning (IHL) in Singapore with more than 14,800 full-time and 3,000 part-time students, more than 1,800 staff, and 148,000 alumni. As an industry-oriented alternative to a broader based high school education, polytechnic graduates in Singapore are sought after for work or many continue to Complete university degrees. The polytechnic offers 48 full-time diploma courses covering diverse interests from business, design and environment, media and the humanities to engineering, technology, health and life sciences. The courses are offered through 9 academic schools. The polytechnic also offers diplomas, post-diplomas, earn & learn programs, short courses and silver programs for adult learners through the CET Academy.
The polytechnic was established in 1963 as Ngee Ann College with 116 students. The current campus size is 33.6 hectares located in Clementi Road, Singapore.

Posed Talent in 360 Tours
Any space within a virtual tour can be photographed empty. Adding posed talent adds life to the 360 degree image and life to the space. It allows the viewer to understand how the space should be used. When you add people to a 360 degree photo you create a story within the virtual tour.
We worked with Ngee Ann Polytechnic to pose and choreograph each student within the tour. Both the Ngee Ann Polytechnic team and the students were great to work with. The result is a virtual tour that tells a story and compels the viewer to look through each 360 degree image to see what each student is doing.
In some of the spaces we had a limited number of students to work with. With advanced photography and digital stitching techniques we can add duplicates of certain students in other places within the image. This allows us to multiply the number of students with the image. See if you can find duplicates of any students in the 360 images yourself!
The music box is an incredibly special and complex 360 degree panorama. Firstly, we added a moving video of the students on the stage. This video reverses itself to create a continuous loop. Can you find the place where the video reverses? We also had roughly 15 students to work with for the theatre audience. We photographed the students sitting in the theater in sections. Then, with a tremendous amount of post-production we stitched those 15 students together to create a full theatre.
We will take every opportunity possible to add talent to 360 degree images. It requires extra work and organization to shoot and a considerable amount of extra postproduction, but it creates a compelling 360 virtual tour.
